He also developed new astronomical equipment, novel observational approaches, and detection algorithms. Recently, he devoted himself to discovering extraterrestrial lives.

His“Xiaowei”, a new miniaturized rice germplasm for large-scale indoor planting, had been sent to space twice, providing a reserve for future space rice cultivation. As the captain of “Germplasm Resources Bank 2.0”, he is working on applying digital and information technologies in the research of germplasm resources, aiming to lay a solid foundation for advancing China’s seed industry.
